London house prices: buyers want big discounts on super‑prime homes, but sellers are unlikely to budge

There’s talk of a post-lockdown bounce in the market, but there isn’t as much to choose from as you’d normally find in spring — the number of listings is 23% less than it was this time last year, according to Rightmove. If you’re looking to find a London property for more than £10m, however, there is 9% more on the open market than a year ago, according to the property data company LonRes — and that doesn’t include all the homes for sale off market. There are four houses for sale in Thurloe Square in South Kensington (prices from £10.75m to £13.95m), at least five — on the open market — on The Bishops Avenue, aka Billionaire’s Row, Hampstead (£10.5m to £17m), and seven flats in the luxury Knightsbridge block One Hyde Park (£9.95m to £18.95m).
