More new buyers registered with agent Knight Frank in the second week of January than at any time for more than a decade and a half, the estate agent said.
It added there has also been an increase in viewings and deals.
London has suffered a sharp slowdown in demand for property since the Brexit vote, partly driven by foreign buyers choosing to sit on their hands amid raging uncertainty.
But there are signs of a rapid recovery in demand since the Conservatives won a resounding election victory last month. The high end property market has been at the forefront of this rebound, with Lonres data showing that sales of prime central London homes were 34pc higher in the three months to December than they had been a year earlier.
