Savills has shuffled its UK residential senior management team, making a number of promotions to the top tier, effective from January 2023. Andrew Perratt (currently Head of Country Residential) will become Head of Residential for Savills UK, incorporating London and Country markets. He takes over from Justin Marking, who will concentrate on growing Savills international network as Head of Global Residential, as well as continuing in his role as Chairman of the buying agency division, Prime Purchase. As announced in October, Jonathan Hewlett has become Chairman of the Savills Private Office following the sad death of David Forbes. From January 1st, he will step back from the day-to-day management of the London business. Liza-Jane Kelly will take over from Hewlett as Head of London Residential. Read more Sophie Candlin has stepped up to run the Savills lettings department in Teddington, taking over from Rory Wallace, Head of South West London Parks Cluster, who will continue to oversee the lettings business in the region. Candlin has worked for the estate agency since 2016. Read more A former investment banker has bought one of the Prime Central London franchise territories for upper-end broker-model estate agency Harding Green. Benjamin Scrace joined HG in July as a Consultant, but has now signed a Franchise Agreement for the Belgravia, Pimlico and Westminster patch. He previously spent seven years at Barclays Investment Bank, before moving into real estate with a brief spell at celebrity brokerage Nest Seekers International in London. Read more Connells-owned estate agency Hamptons has bought a specialist short-term lettings agency in South West London. Wimbledon Accommodation has been serving up top-end temporary homes for visitors to the annual Wimbledon tennis championship, as well as players and officials, for the last 23 years. Owners David and Janet Thurtell will work in “close partnership” with Hamptons until the end of the 2023 tournament, before shifting to consultancy roles with the company. Read more Strutt & Parker has brought in Charles Fraser-Sampson as a consultant to cover Henley-on-Thames and its surrounding villages in Oxfordshire. He previously set up a Windsor office for Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire-based firm Bovingdons, and has held roles at Savills in Henley-on-Thames and Carter Jonas in Knightsbridge. Read more Chelsea-based Draker Lettings has recruited interiors consultant Anders Olsson to head up its new Interior Styling Department – aimed at helping landlords “outshine the competition”. As resident designer, Olsson, formerly head stylist at OKA, will be prepping rental instructions for marketing, using existing furniture and accessories. Read more London estate agency Robert Irving Burns is to star in a new Channel 4 reality TV series, after Los Angeles property magnate and Real Housewives character Paul Kemsley (AKA PK) took a 50% stake in the business. The show’s working title is “Selling Super Prime”, and it’s due to air early next year. RIB’s Managing Director Antony Antoniou will star alongside PK, who is now a director of the company. Read more Top-end estate agency brand Fine & Country, which is owned by nurtur Group (formerly known as epropservices), has elected new representatives to its National Advisory Council – who will be responsible for “providing advice, suggestions, and guidance to top management on the future of the network.” The new NAC members are: Colin J Shairp (South East); James Cooper (South West); Ben Madden (London); Joe Parry (Wales); Simon Bradbury (East Anglia); Helen Miller (North West); Jan von Draczek (Midlands); Mark Manning (North East). Irina Vladi has moved from top-end resi and hospitality design house 1508 London. She previously worked in France, and has had a hand in the scheme ranging from the Mandarin Oriental Residences in Beverly Hills to Chelsea Barracks in London. Read more London-based design firm Morpheus & Co has recruited two new faces to its team, as it “embarks on ambitious growth plans to expand its hospitality and residential portfolios.” Pablo Laikan joins as 3D visual artist, and Kelly Cinnamond-Santos as Senior Interior Designer. Read more Former Berkeley Group boss Sean Ellis has joined London-based property developer/investor Dominvs Group as a Non-Executive Director. Ellis spent nearly 20 years at Berkeley Group Plc, one of the UK’s largest housebuilders, latterly as Executive Director. Read more The Earls Court Development Company has brought in Peter Runacres as Head of Urban Futures, with a remit to “focus primarily on the intersection of environmental sustainability, innovation, technology and human-centred design.” Runacres has spent the last decade at King’s Cross developer Argent, latterly as Development Director of the hyper-successful urban regenerator. Bryce Malcolmson, who previously worked at top-end developer Leconfield and was once a member of Knight Frank’s super-prime development team, has come on board as contracts manager. New commercial manager Tim Hillen joins from BtR specialist Grainger, having also previously worked in client-side project management for Porsche, Bentley and Ducati at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit facility. Read more A former Knight Frank Director has launched a new property development business, focused on creating “low-density, artisan residential schemes across London.” Alex Macaulay spent four years in KF’s Leisure & Hospitality Investment department, until 2019. He began work on his new venture, Kinland, last year, and already has six resi development projects in the pipeline across London. Read more Don O’Sullivan has moved from privately-owned housebuilder Galliard to Inland Homes Plc, joining the regen and housing specialist as CEO. O’Sullivan joined Galliard Homes as a contract manager in 2001, stepping up to become Group Managing Director in 2012, then Group CEO in 2017. He left the company in March this year. Read more Battersea Power Station has appointed Kate Boothman Meier as head of communications and marketing, with responsibility for all marketing and comms activities across the £9bn project. Sam Cotton, current head of leasing, has also been promoted to the newly-created position of head of asset management, taking on responsibility for the management of the commercial assets across the estate. Read more A “sustainable” property developer founded by two former Greenpeace directors has hired industry heavyweight David Cowans as its new chairman. Human Nature has brought in Cowans, who recently retired from his chief exec role at Places for People Group, as it gears up to submit plans for its first major project. Read more 300-year-old private wealth and property law firm Boodle Hatfield has elected a new senior partner. Andrea Zavos, who has been with the firm since 2014 and heads up the private client & tax team, will succeed Sara Maccallum as of 1st May 2023. Read more. Law firm Cripps has announced its head of residential estates, Kerry Glanville, is to retire next spring. A real estate litigator since qualifying in 1986, Glanville joined Lee & Pembertons (which later became Pemberton Greenish) as a partner, rising to senior partner by the 2018 merger with Cripps. Charles Richardson has joined from Hunters Law, where he began his career and went on to become a partner in 2018.
