Two well-known UK property brokerages have combined to create a “powerful alternative to the traditional estate agency model.” Harding Green has acquired the business assets of The London Broker, and is working with founders Rupert Collingwood and Charlie Willis to create a new national platform for independent agencies and brokers.

Broker-model estate agency Harding Green has added two new names to its self-employed team sheet in South West London: Catherine Merrett and Peter McCosh both join as Partners. Merrett moves from Savills, where she was Associate Director and Head of Core Sales in Ealing, having previously spent 15 years with boutique agency Antony Roberts in Richmond. McCosh jspent the last eight years with Savills – where he was an Associate Director and head of the residential sales department in Battersea.

Strutt & Parker has appointed well-known super-prime property agent Toby Downes as a Director, to advise buyers and sellers across Prime Central and South West London. Downes previously worked as a negotiator for the firm 13 years ago, before moving on to take senior roles at Savills, Redbook and, most recently, as London specialist at buying agency Haringtons.

Strutt & Parker has also recruited Andrew Chambers as Director, based between the firm’s Marylebone and Mayfair offices. Chambers has moved from UK Sotheby’s International Realty, where he was a Director. He previously spent three years at Knight Frank, and seven at CBRE.

Well-known buying agent Lucie Hirst has launched her own independent firm. Formerly of Savills and Knight Frank, Hirst co-founded UHNWI-focused buying agency Colombo Hirst in 2018. Her new operation, Lucie Hirst Private Clients, specialises in top-end resi acquisitions across Prime Central London and the Cotswolds.

Censa Caird has stepped up as Head of UK Client Success – following more than a decade at the Central London-based company – and will focus on driving business growth. Aaron Higgins has returned as National Head of Development and Construction, having spent the last six years at Boden Group.
