LonRes, a legacy of collaboration and innovation
At the end of 1999, at the Admiral Codrington in Mossop Street, Chelsea, London estate agent Anthony Payne and surveyor William Carrington were sharing a drink—and a common frustration. Anthony had just lost a deal because of delayed post – everything was done by post back then – and William was exhausted by having to make endless calls to agents looking for price comparables.
They agreed there had to be a better way. And so LonRes was born. Designed by agents for agents, LonRes has redefined estate agency and professional valuation in central London and the country too.
Today LonRes attracts over 5,000 carefully vetted property professionals who log onto the platform daily to upload property listings – both on and off-market – to reach committed buyers, take advantage of commission-sharing opportunities, and access unique, real-time data on London’s sales and lettings markets. Subscribers also have access to one of the most comprehensive archives of London properties, dating back to 1979.
LonRes is vitally important to what we do day-to-day. It’s a platform we genuinely rely on.
Roly Ingleby‑MacKenzie - Partner, Head of Knightsbridge Sales, Knight Frank
LonRes is a community where property professionals come together to share information and discuss the critical issues impacting their sector today. It is a secure network that enables businesses to trade with each other in complete confidence.
Subscribers to LonRes include London and country sales and lettings agents, property finders, relocation agents, surveyors, and banks. As an independent business – LonRes neither sells nor lets property – our comprehensive dataset on prime London is second to none.
Our Founders
William Carrington, Chairman
William co-founded LonRes with Anthony Payne in 1999. He began his property career in the mid-1980s with a family firm based in Knightsbridge. In 1992, he joined forces with Charles Boston, establishing Boston Carrington Pritchard on Sloane Street, where he specialised in landlord and tenant work.
William is a director of CLEA (Central London Estate Agents, who own the London Magazine), Beauchamp Estates and FCS Compliance. He founded the charity The Trevor Jones Trust (now called Regain Sports Charity) to help quadriplegic amateur sportsmen and women. He is also the president of B.A.R.K. (Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels).
In his spare time, William enjoys travelling, eating, and participating in field and racquet sports, watching rugby union and occasionally plays golf.

Anthony Payne,
Managing Director
Anthony began his property career at a small estate agency in North London in 1984 before moving to the Chelsea office of Mayfair-based Beauchamp Estates in 1985, where he remained until 1997. That year, he joined PKL, a prominent rental agency (later acquired by Countrywide), where he established a thriving sales and investment department, specialising in working with investors from the Far East. Antony left PKL in 1999 to set up his own estate agency APT Property Consultants before joining forces with William to establish LonRes in 2000.
In his spare time, Anthony is an avid traveller, a lover of good food, and has a particular fondness for Aston Martins.
