Estate Agents

Knight Frank

Knight Frank has hired new sales managers to run two of its recently-opened offices in London. Mark Ruffell has been brought in from Foxtons to lead the Woolwich operation, which is based in Berkeley’s Royal Arsenal Riverside scheme. Simon Boulton has joined the Aldgate branch from Stirling Ackroyd, where he headed up the resi sales division.

Savills

Savills has significantly bolstered its research unit, making a trio of senior new appointments and adding another four analysts to the 33-strong team. Knight Frank’s former Head of Research Consultancy, Sebastian Verity, has joined as a Director; journalist Paul Wellman has jumped from Estates Gazette to join Savills as an Associate, and Josh Rose-Nokes has been recruited from GVA Apleona as an Associate Director. These recruits are joining a couple of months after Savills’ highly-respected Director of World Research, Yolande Barnes, moved on to chair UCL’s new Bartlett Real Estate Institute - which officially launched in November.

Savills has recruited Gordon Hood from Knight Frank to run its Reading lettings satellite office and take the role of “Cluster Head” for Reading and Marlow.

Sotheby’s International Realty

The UK arm of the Sotheby’s International Realty network has hired former Carter Jonas man Jason Corbett to lead its Country Sales & Lettings division, and promoted James Somers to Head of Central London Lettings.

Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward

Jonny Miller has returned to Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward after seven years with John D Wood and Johns&Co. He was Sales Manager at KFH’s St John’s Wood branch from 2009 to 2011, and is now the estate agency’s New Homes Sales Manager, covering the North, North West, West and South West London regions.

Winkworth

A former pair of long-term Knight Frankers have taken on the Winkworth franchise in Bath, acquiring it from Christopher Baker (who also owns Winkworth’s Exeter franchise). Lucy McIlroy and Matthew Leonard were both previously at Knight Frank in Bath.

Carter Jonas

Carter Jonas has boosted its residential sales team in Oxford, recruiting Julia Wilson from local independent estate agency Penny & Sinclair.

Buying Agents

STERLING PRIVATE OFFICE

Sterling Private Office, the boutique property consultancy launched 18 months ago by The Buying Solution alumni Jonathan Mount, Sam McArdle and Rachel Thompson, has recruited another former colleague to its ranks. Nick Mead was a partner at Knight Frank’s buying arm TBS for the last eight-and-a-half years, specialising in property searches in the Home Counties from the Ascot branch. He’s now joined SPO as a Director, tasked with setting up and running the firm’s first country office.

Ballantine Percival

Jack Ballantine has launched a new London-based buying agency / development consultancy, called Ballantine Percival. Ballantine has spent the last year as Residential Development & Investment Director at Sotheby’s International Realty, and before that was CBRE UK’s Head of Asia Desk.

The Buying Solution

Buying agency Crown Mayfair has recruited Thomas Osborn - formerly Carter Jonas’s Head of Residential Sales in Barnes - as a consultant to replace Associate Director Alex Dawkins, who has left the business after nearly eight years “for another sector of the property business.”

Developers & Consultants

London Square

London Square has appointed Mark Evans from Shanly Homes as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Fenton Whelan

Luxury property developer Fenton Whelan has promoted its Creative Director, Desariot Ademaj, to become a Partner in the business and Head of the Design Studio.

OCTAGON

Octagon has made a number of hires to its Surrey-based team: Gary Lunn is now Commercial Director; Neal Appleby as Estimator; Roman Stuller as Architectural Technician; Mike Guard in Land Buying; Dean Johnson as a Site Manager.

Derwent London

Paul Williams will step up to become Derwent London’s Chief Executive in May, taking over from founder John Burns - who moves over to become Non Executive Chair the Board; current Board Chair Robbie Rayne will retire.

Grosvenor Group

Grosvenor Group has promoted Robert Davis to Group Finance Director. He replaces Nick Scarles, who has moved up to become CFO of the Grosvenor Estate. Sebastien Hyest takes over as Grosvenor Europe’s CFO.

Redrow

Redrow boss Steve Morgan has announced that he is to retire in March.

SAVILLS

Savills is to launch a new service as part of its wider property management offering. Savills Place Shaping & Marketing will officially launch on 1st January 2019, merging functions currently offered by two existing Savills divisions – the recently-acquired CMS, and the in-house POP Marketing – to create a 60-strong team based across various offices. It is being helmed by Director & Head of Place-Shaping Paul Clement, and Head of Property Management Nick Herward.
